Navratna Fine Gold Earrings

Solid 18K gold earrings set with the classic configuration of the navratna, or nine stones.

Navratna derives from the Sanskrit meaning nine stones.   This configuration of gemstones is seen commonly in Indian traditional jewellery and although its historical origin has never been properly explained,  it is still seen as symbolically important and believed to have talismanic benefits.

The nine gemstones are traditionally ruby, diamond, blue sapphire, yellow sapphire, emerald, coral, pearl, cats eye and hessonite [a variety of garnet].
