Jadau Jewellery
Jadau jewellery is a traditional form of Indian jewellery renowned for its intricate craftsmanship and opulent appearance. Jadau does not refer to a type of gemstone or metal, but rather a technique of setting stones resulting in beautifully unique Jadau jewellery pieces.
In Jadau setting, gemstones are pressed and foiled directly into fine gold without the use of claws or prongs, a technique rooted in the Mughal court and still practised by a small number of skilled artisans today. Katie has worked with the same team of Jadau craftspeople for over twenty years, and it remains one of the most distinctive elements of the Pomegranate range.
